Q. Why should I pre-register?
A. Pre-registration is very helpful to the running of the event. It brings in money needed to get contracts for services, etc. taken care of. Plus, one medallion is included with pre-registration. Registrations received after May 1st are the same cost, but do not include the medallion, a $10 value.
A. June 12-16. Early set up makes you eligible for work parties.
A. If you come in before the official start date, you will need to be dressed 'period' one hour after you have set up. (this is, of course, considering you unload your vehicle and get set up in a timely manner.) After the official start date, you will need to be dressed in period clothing when you enter short or long term camps. There will be a changing tent at registration for your convinience. We want to encourage everyone to set up their camp in as timely a manner as they are able. Those there ahead of you are 'already at rendezvous' so it's a matter of consideration for others. Period clothing is required from June 17th until closing ceremonies June 24th.
Q. Are there showers available?
A. No showers on site.
Q. What will the weather be like?
A. Usually mid-70's are typical northern Minnesota daytime temps for June, but nights can get cool (49-57°). Bring your capote and wool blanket!
Q. What other things are there to do around Bemidji?
A. Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi just 30 miles away! Paul Bunyan animal land is 16 miles away has lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, kangaroos, deer, camels, and more! Giant statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe are downtown and several antique stores, thrift shops, and many unique artisan shops as well. Headwaters Science Museum is open daily. There are 2 golf courses in the area. And don't forget all the beautiful northern Minnesota scenery.
Q. Will the ladies be "creekin"?
A. Sadly we don't have a water source on site but we will have a private area to sneak away and "dry creek" since we aren't on a body of water.
